There are many gambling dens located in the state, most on moored barges. The largest of the Iowa casinos is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, an Indian gambling hall in Tama, with 127,669 square feet of casino space, 1,500 slot machines, 30 table games, such as chemin de fer, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and many varieties of poker; as well as three dining rooms, bimonthly productions, and betting advice. An additional large Native American casino is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 square feet, 668 slots, and fourteen table games. Also, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs is available 24 hours, with 38,500 sq.ft., 1,589 slots, 36 table games, and four eatery’s. There are several other dominant Iowa gambling dens, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 square feet, 1,212 slot machines, and 39 table games.

A tinier Iowa gambling hall is the Diamond Jo, a river based gambling den in Dubuque, with 17,813 sq.ft., 776 slot machines, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend river boat, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 square feet, 535 one armed bandits, and 14 table games. Another Iowa river based gambling hall, The Isle of Capri, is available never closes, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 slot machines, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 square foot water based gambling den in Clinton, has 506 slots, 14 table games, live shows, and Thursday 21 events.

Iowa casinos offer a great amount of tax revenue to the commonwealth of Iowa, which has enabled the bankrolling of a good many commonwealth wide activities. Vacationers have gotten bigger at an accelerated percentage along with the requirement for services and an increase in jobs. Iowa gambling dens have been helpful to the expansion of the market, and the enthusiasm for gaming in Iowa is across the board.
